Dec 20, 2017
With great sadness we announce the passing of Marvin H Glanz on December 20, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Marvin passed away from cancer in his lungs and brain.

Marvin was predeceased by his wife Doreen and son Todd.

He is survived by his children Barbara Thorp (Barry), Marnie Meyers (Michael), Janine Specht (Neil), and Trent Glanz (Rebecca).

He is also survived by his two sisters Eleanor Seymour (Ted) and Velmae Box (Chuck).

He also loved very much his 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Everyone who knew Marvin knew that everything he did, he did in the best way possible.

From carpentry to boat building to snowmobile racing to firefighting he excelled at everything he did.

But his real passion was in wood turning. He loved nothing more than to create art from wood. He built furniture, vintage spinning wheels, grandfather clocks, quilt racks, wall clocks, platters and intricate bowls made from hundreds of small pieces.

He usually took home first place with the pieces he entered into competitions.

A service honouring Marvin's life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 4910 Northmount Drive, Wetaskiwin on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.

In Marvin's memory donations will be gratefully accepted to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation (Palliative Care Rooms).
