KIDD, MICHAEL WILLIAM

August 21, 1946 - December 26, 2017

It is with great sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Michael William Kidd on December 26, 2017 at the age of 71.

Mike was born on August 21, 1946 in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1976 he moved to Edmonton and worked tirelessly as a telephone linesman for most of his life.

In 1980, he moved to the Millet area to start a family and has been there ever since. Helping and spending time with Shirley, his children and grandchildren made Mike feel whole. He relished in spending many hours playing fetch with one of the loves of his life; his dog, Charlie.

Mike had many collections (antiques, bikes) and hobbies; he tinkered with vehicles, restored treasured objects, enjoyed gardening, had a passion for traveling, history, reading and learning, and loved watching birds at the bird feeders. Mike lived fully, and loved to share his stories of adventure and lessons learned. Mike's thoughtfulness and wisdom will never be forgotten.

Left to cherish his memory are his spouse of 22 years, Shirley Cooper; his children, Jamie and Tyson Kidd; brother, Jim (Suzanne); sister, Pat Kennedy; stepchildren, Stacey (Darren) Fiveland, Nancy (Chris) Carr; grandchildren, Chelsea (Joel), Keegan, Kale, Tayah, Jory (Meagan), Makenzie (Vova), Brodie (James), Zoe, Kalei; two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Logan; and a multitude of friends, family and loved ones.

At Mike's request, there will be no formal service, but a private family memorial supper will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's memory to the Salvation Army, Alberta or Canadian Lung Association or the Millet Royal Canadian Legion - Br. 229.
