Phyllis passed away peacefully on October 1, 2021. She was born in Wetaskiwin to Ernest and Emma Kaiser on September 24, 1935.
After finishing high school she moved to Edmonton to attend business college; graduating as an accounting clerk and went on to work for Northwest Industries, Dominion Bridge, and Echo Bay Mines. During this time she attended N.A.I.T. On a part time basis and became a very excellent dressmaker.
In 1961 Phyllis married Mel Latam; but unfortunately in 1971 Mel passed away from aheart attack.
In 1976 she married Wilson Brucks. On their retirement in 1986 they moved to Vancouver; spending winters down south and summers touring B.C. and Alberta. In 2001 they moved to Wetaskiwin to be closer to family. In 2014 her husband Wilson passed away and Phyllis and her cat "CUJO" remained in their apartment until she moved into Peace Hills Lodge a couple of years ago.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Emma Kaiser, siblings, Erna Bowen, Gordon Kaiser, and Bertha Bailer. She is survived by her brother, Norman (his wife Violet) and sister-in-law Sue Kaiser and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was also blessed by her special friendship with Karen Winter. Karen was family to Phyllis and was a great support to her.
As per Phyllis's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. Donations in Phyllis's memory can be made the Alzheimer's Society. (#306- 10430 61 Ave. Edmonton, Alberta. T6H 2J3).
