Rita Doreen Johnston

April 21, 1934 - June 4, 2019
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Rita Johnston. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Terry (Jeremy) Komives of Mulhurst Bay, Shelly (Barry) Hawkes of Wet., Holly Weiler (Otto Suchy) of Holden, Dan (Shelley) Johnston of Busby; son-in-law, Ed Oliver of Wet.; step-daughter, Christine (George) Bernier of Devon; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; special friend, John A. MacDonald; sister, Bonnie Larden of Calgary; brother, Neil (Shirley) Johnston of Collington; sisters-in-law, Delores Zittlau and Norma Johnston, as well as numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
Rita was predeceased by parents, William and Alice Johnston; in-laws, Lyall and Margaret Johnston; husbands, Clayton Johnston, and Lenin Linden; daughter, Merri-Lee Oliver; as well as brothers-in-law, Richard Johnston, Norm Zittlau, and Earl Larden.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Baker Funeral Chapel, Wetaskiwin at 1 pm. Cremation with private interment at Bonnie Glen Cemetery will take place at a later date. In memory of Rita, donations may be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, S.T.A.R.S, Wetaskiwin Health Foundation, or donor's choice.
