Foodies rejoice; the ninth annual Taste of Summer event is back in Pigeon Lake on Aug. 19.

Twelve families volunteered to supply and serve various sample-sized foods, along with entertainment from local band Midnight Voodoo, to keep the fun going.

The event is held at 135, 462054 Range Road 11, Crystal Key Drive. There is no cost to attend; however, organizers ask guests to make a reasonable donation.

This year, money raised will go to the South Pigeon Lake Fire Department, and some local charities receive a token of what is raised.

Last year, over 500 people attended Taste of Summer, raising $28,243 in three hours, according to the advertisement poster.

Over the last eight years, the event has raised over $153,000 to support the community.

This year, guests are encouraged to bring their own tables and chairs to guarantee a place to sit as a group. Table decorations, such as flowers and tablecloths, are also welcome.
