Wetaskiwin’s A&W recently raised money for the local Food Bank.
From April 20-26 the location donated $1 from every Teen Burger to the Food Bank. In addition, throughout the month of April A&W asked guests on every order if they would like to round up their order to the nearest dollar and the difference to the Food Bank as well.
“It went very well,” Kruger said explaining that the company, “Just wanted to give back to the community, you know, with these uncertain times.
On Wednesday May 27, 2020 A&W Wetaskiwin manager Colleen Kruger presented a cheque of approximately $2,200 to Yves Bolduc from the Salvation Army Food Bank in Wetaskiwin.
A&W Wetaskiwin’s dining room is still closed due to COVID-19 concerns, however they have now opened their doors for takeout orders. A maximum of six guests at a time, with a limit of two people from the same household, will be allowed inside for takeout at a time.
Separate entrance and exits have been set up as well as well marked spots to stand on in line to ensure social distancing inside the location is properly practiced. Walk in takeout will only be available from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. everyday.
The drive through will still be open and available for regular hours.
