On Apr. 6, at 10:30 p.m., Leduc RCMP received a report of a three vehicle collision at the east bound intersection of Airport Road and Highway 2, on the east side of the over pass approaching Sparrow Drive.

Upon arrival, emergency crews tended to one driver of a small SUV, a 55-year-old resident of Edmonton, who died on scene. The drivers and occupants of the other two vehicles involved were transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP remained on the scene for several hours to investigate. Initial findings were road conditions, weather or impairments were not factors in the collision.

Leduc RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the collision with the assistance of the RCMP collision reconstructionist.
