On a cool blustery day in May, 16 months ago, Battle Lake Community Baptist Church broke ground for their new church building. Pastor Rick Williams gave an enthusiastic speech focused on ‘Giving the Glory to God’.

On Sunday September 23rd, the Glory was indeed given all to God, as they celebrated their Official Dedication and Grand Opening.

With over 250 in attendance throughout the day the church was filled from the 10:30 am service until 5 pm with enthusiastic visitors, friends and family. A delicious catered luncheon was provided.

The Honorable Diana McQueen, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Resources spoke eloquently of community and togetherness, and how this building start to finish is a shining example of how we can all work together towards a common goal.

Kathy Rooyakkers Councilor of Division 6, gave a heartfelt congratulation on all Battle Lake Church has achieved in a very short time followed by Board Chairman Don Harink who gave an account of the building process and expressed a warm Thank You to all the volunteers who contributed their time, money and resources to “Git’er done”.

Members of Battle Lake Church were thrilled with the number of representatives from local area churches who stood up and gave congratulations and blessings. It was truly a day of giving thanks - to God for His guidance every step of the way, to the many volunteers who stepped up with not only financial aid, but with their valuable time and skills to help bring the project to completion. Over half of the building of Battle lake Community Baptist Church, was done by volunteer labor.

The 5280 sq foot building seats 150 in the Sanctuary, with additional seating of 65 in the adjoining Fellowship room. It consists of 3 Sunday school rooms, a nursery, kitchen, pastor’s office, and utility and storage rooms, all on one level. It was scaled down from the original plan of a much larger building to keep with the demographic of the area with consideration for future growth. With a congregation on average of 50 – 60 people, all funds for the building of the church were donated. There is no mortgage. Congratulations and God’s continued Blessings, Battle Lake Community Baptist Church!
