With social distancing mandatory to minimize the spread of COVID-19 across the province, some holidays are being creatively rearranged.

With Easter this weekend, some churches are looking for options to connect with their parishioners that will maintain social distance protocols.

Most churches have been converting their services into videos that are being shared on their Facebook pages or their websites.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wetaskiwin is one church that has been converting their masses to social media live streams since the provincial mandate on group gatherings was passed down. They say this weekend will be no different.

They have been preparing to live stream their Easter masses starting tonight April 9, at 7 p.m. and will continue throughout the weekend, including a Saturday night Easter Vigil.

These live streams will be available on the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Wetaskiwin Facebook page.
