Griffiths-Scott

Pipestone Flyer

Fall has come, the geese are flying south for the winter and as more of the windy days come, kites surf the wind. Griffiths-Scott School has had lots of great activities going on and Millet School had a very special surprise come to a couple of the teachers.

At Griffiths-Scott School there is an option for grades 7-9 called leadership. Leadership students plan exciting activities for the whole school to enjoy. This last week was really fun because leadership had a pyjama day and on Friday there was an 80’s dress up day. The 80’s dress up day was really lively and everyone enjoyed it because most people wore 80’s clothing and looked really goofy. It was a great day. Now, this week, they are having a couple more activities like on Tuesday they had a Canadian spirit day where everyone wore red and white. Also on a couple days this week the school served all the students hot chocolate.

The gym in Griffiths-Scott is still not finished. We all hope it will be done soon. The weather is starting to get too cold to go outside for gym class. Also the volleyball teams are starting to crave a real gym to play in. The Millet school gym is just to small to play a proper game of volleyball. The volleyball players are thankful that Millet School is that kind to let us use their gym but it’s time to move to a bigger gym. Speaking of volleyball, the scores have mostly been tied up but once we get our gym up and running they are going to beat all the teams in their paths. So watch out, the Griffins are just about to get real good.

What happened at Millet School was very amazing and exciting because this organization called Grand and Toy came to Millet school to give a couple teachers a huge box of school supplies and some entertaining gadgets. Laurie Kirk and Sharon Saunders were the two teachers who received these amazing gifts because they put so much of there own money into buying supplies that Grand and Toy decided it was their time to get a little surprise. Both of the teachers faces turned red when their names were called to receive the  gifts. They even shed some tears of joy.

So many things to still look forward to as the school year keeps moving on. Who knows what surprises might come next or even victories for the Griffins. Only the future we are all stepping into can determine all that…
