The 46 annual Lakedell Agricultural Society Country Fair is set for the September long weekend.
While Sept. 2, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., is the main fair day, activities take place all weekend.
The fair is advertised as “fun for the whole family,” and a jam-packed entertainment schedule for both the young and old supports the statement.
The day begins with a pancake breakfast, followed by a youth horse show, community parade and heavy horse pull. Special guest Flying Bob is also set to entertain guests.
Other activities include bouncy castles, mutton bustin’, a donut eating contest, a greased pig race, petting zoo face painting, free wagon rides and more.
Food trucks and beer gardens will be on site.
According to Kim Hughes with the Agricultural Society, one of the most popular events is the youth mutton bustin’. Advanced entry is available for this event; however, only a handful of spots remain.
Tickets for Saturday’s events are on sale now and can be purchased for a discounted price before the event at Backstreet Antiques, ATB Westerose and Wetaskiwin, the AG Office or online at www.Lakedell.org.
While tickets are available at the gate, the Agricultural Society is encouraging the early purchase to best prepare for the number of attendees and ensure smooth entry into the fair on the day of.
