County of Wetaskiwin youth participated in the Hockey Hooky for Ben fundraiser this week and their efforts have helped raise over $3,000 for the Ben Stelter Fund and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The Pigeon Lake Athletic Cultural & Educational Society (PLACE) helped organize some fundraiser hockey games between County of Wetaskiwin schools.

Thursday Feb.2, students from Pigeon Lake Regional School and Buck Mountain School competed in two games at the Falun Outdoor Rink.

The Ben Stelter Fund was created to continue the legacy of Ben’s heart and spirit, which was put in the national spotlight when he became a core supporter of the Edmonton Oilers. The goal of his fund is to help children fighting Glioblastoma and other cancers.
