Staff Sergeant Dwayne Moore has been named the new Detachment Commander for Breton and Thorsby Detachments.

Staff Sgt. Moore began his duties in his post effective Monday morning Feb. 8, 2021. Superintendent Gord Stewart, Acting District Commander for Central Alberta District, says he is pleased to make this announcement and welcome Staff Sgt. Moore.

Staff Sgt. Moore has spent all 17 years of his service in Alberta and has previously served in Leduc, Edson, and Maskwacis. Alberta RCMP say that Moore brings an in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of policing in rural Alberta that is a welcome addition to the Breton-Thorsby Detachment.

Superintendent Steward also thanks Staff Sergeant Harpreet Dhaliwal who was the Detachment Commander since 2017 and provided strong leadership for the detachment.

Staff Sgt. Moore will focus on crime reduction and community engagement while maintaining the strong ties between RCMP partners and the community. He is excited to take up this post and looks forward to meeting the people in the Breton and Thorsby communities.
