For the first time in over 10 weeks, two individuals within the City of Wetaskiwin have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the Government of Alberta’s aggregate data map on recorded COVID-19 cases, the City of Wetaskiwin has two positive cases.

On the Municipality viewing setting for the map it is reported that the City of Wetaskiwin currently has two positive cases and the County of Wetaskiwin, viewed as a separate municipality on the government map, has zero active cases.

However, if the map is viewed through the selection of local geographic area, which combines the County of Wetaskiwin and City of Wetaskiwin as one entity, there is a recorded four active cases of COVID-19.

This change likely occurs because when the setting is changed to local geographic area, Wetaskiwin County stretches to include Maskwacis on the aggregate data map.
