City of Wetaskiwin’s COVID-19 cases continue to climb

City of Wetaskiwin now reporting 25 active cases of COVID-19.

The City of Wetaskiwin’s COVID-19 cases are continuing to climb.

The Government of Alberta confirmed 515 new cases across the province on Wednesday Nov.4, 2020 out of 7,461 test results. The province also confirmed six new deaths.

The City of Wetaskiwin now has 25 active cases, an increase of three from the province’s Tuesday update.

A mandatory face coverings bylaw is in effect in the City of Wetaskiwin. Everyone in the City of Wetaskiwin must now wear a face coverings at all times in a public premises or in a public vehicle, unless that person is separated from other persons by an installed screen, shield, or other barrier.

Under the bylaw a failure to wear a face covering where required is a $50 fine and failure to display prescribed signage is a $200 fine.

The County of Wetaskiwin only has one active case of COVID-19 according to the Government of Alberta’s COVID-19 aggregate data map.
