Leduc RCMP arrest an 18-year-old male twice over the last week

RCMP responded to a call about an armed robbery.

On May 28, 2020 at 4:20 a.m., Leduc RCMP responded to an armed robbery at the 7-11 Gas Station in the Suntree area of Leduc. Police arrived on scene and learned that a male entered the store wearing a mask and stole candy.

When confronted by staff, the male brandished what was believed to be a firearm and left. Nobody was injured.

A short time later, RCMP members with the assistance of the RCMP Police Service Dog, located and arrested the male who refused to identify himself.

A search of the male resulted in locating an imitation handgun. A judicial hearing was held and the male was released from custody.

Two days later, the accused is alleged to have stolen a woman’s empty purse after she gave him a ride.

A few hours later, Leduc RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious male at a residence. RCMP members attended the residence and located the male leaving the area. The male was arrested and the stolen purse was located in his possession.

Eti Idemudia, 18, of Leduc has been charged with 10 offences relating to these incidents:

· Using firearm in commission of offence

· Disguise with intent

· Three charges of possession of stolen property under $5000.

· Possession of break-in instruments

· Three charges of failing to comply with release order condition.

He was held for a judicial hearing and was released to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on July 9, 2020.
