Leduc RCMP charge two males following break and enter

Two males were caught breaking and entering a Nisku business.

On Aug. 4, 2021, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Leduc RCMP were dispatched to a break and enter in progress at a business in the area of 6th Street and 14th Ave in Nisku, Alta.

Officers received information from a witness who observed two males wearing black walking inside a business yard.

With the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services, Leduc RCMP attended the area and searched for the suspects.

A search of a nearby building resulted in the arrest of one of the male suspects. Officers continued searching and arrested the other suspect hiding nearby.

Jamie Morissette, 42, of Edmonton, Alta., and Jordon Schneider, 33, of Beaumont, Alta., were both charged with:

• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;

• Break and enter x2;

• Possession of break-in instruments.

Following judicial interim release hearing both Morissette and Schneider were released from custody to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on Aug.26, 2021.

Leduc RCMP would like to thank the member of the public who observed a crime and reported it to the police immediately. This person was instrumental in this duo being caught by the police.
