The County of Wetaskiwin Utilities Department will be conducting its annual hydrant flushing and inspection program from May 6 to 10.

Signs will be posted in the Hamlet of Winfield to indicate where the Utilities Operators are working, the county said on their website.

During the hydrant flushing, residents may notice that their water may be cloudy or brown.

This is due to sediment in the line being stirred up during the flushing process.

The county recommends that if the residents notice this, they should flush their tap for five minutes until the water runs clear again.

For any questions, residents can contact the Utilities Department at 780-361-6241.
