Wetaskiwin RCMP charge multiple people for trafficking related offences

As a result of the search six individuals were arrested and charged with various offences.

Following a lengthy investigation that began in June 2021, the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has laid charges fro various trafficking related offences committed in Wetaskiwin.

On Sept. 1, 2021, Wetaskiwin CRU with assistance from the Wetaskiwin RCMP and Wetaskiwin General Investigation (GIS), executed a search warrant on a residence and a business in Wetaskiwin in the area of 47 street and 49 Ave. The investigation into the home and business was in relation to drug trafficking.

As a result of the search six individuals were arrested and charged with various offences.

The searches resulted in the seizure of firearms, a prohibited firearm, a quantity o ammunition, knives, drug believed to methamphetamines and cocaine, tobacco, a quantity of Canadian currency, drug paraphernalia, and electronics.

Sean Michael Greenwall, 39, of Wetaskiwin, Alta., has been charged with:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance x3;

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon x4;

• Possession of a property obtained by crime under $5,000;

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;

• Careless use of a firearm x2;

• Weapons possession contrary to order x5.

Joshua Martin Howse, 33, of Daysland, Alta., has been charged with:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance x3;

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon x4;

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;

• Careless use of a firearm x2;

• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;

• Weapons possession contrary to order x5.

Jacqueline Nancy Moses, 31, of Wetaskiwin is charged with:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance x3;

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon x4;

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;

• Careless use of a firearm x2;

• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;

• Failure to comply with conditions of a release order x7.

Clara Faye Omeasoo, 24, of Wetaskiwin is charged with:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance x3;

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon x4;

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;

• Careless use of a firearm x2;

• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;

• Failure to comply with conditions of a release order x8.

Matthew Roy Omeasoo, 32, of Wetaskiwin is charged with:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance x3;

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon x4;

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;

• Careless use of a firearm x2;

• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

Marwan Sami Tabet, 57, of Wetaskiwin is charged with:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance x3;

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon x4;

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;

• Careless use of a firearm x2;

• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;

• Disobeying an Order of the Court x8;

• Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking over $5000;

• Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5000.

Following judicial hearings, all the above noted accused, with the exception of Tabet, have been remanded into custody for Ponoka Provincial Court on Sept. 3, 2021.

Tabet was released on a release order to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on Sept. 23, 2021.
