All WRPS schools across the division will be closed on Sept. 30, 2021 in honour of National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
“The board wishes to honour and recognize Canada’s residential school survivors, their families, and communities,” WRPS states on their website.
“Schools will still undertake impactful activities and meaningful learning that focuses on Indigenous foundational knowledge and cultural practices.”
WRPS students are encouraged to wear their orange shirts throughout the week of September 27 to October 1 for Truth and Reconciliation.
