Massive fire at Wetaskiwin’s Rose Country Inn

Multiple fire departments involved, building badly damaged

Official statement from the City of Wetaskiwin on hotel fire:

“Wetaskiwin Fire Services received a call at 6:15 am concerning a fire at the Rose Country Inn (located at 4820 – 50 Street, Wetaskiwin). Shortly after arriving on scene, Wetaskiwin Fire Services called for mutual aid with Camrose and Millet Fire. The building was fully engulfed in flames at 8 am and then partially collapsed at approximately 8:30 am. No one was injured during the building collapse. “Wetaskiwin Fire Services and the other responding departments continue to fight the fire and keep it contained to the Rose Country Inn.

“We ask that everyone stay out of the area to allow our protective services personnel to work safely and efficiently.”
