We started off a snowy May with highway cleanup on the 11th. With the newly melted snow we found some interesting things in the ditches- from over 50 smoke packs in only 2 kms to various articles of clothing. We as a club were already tired from cleaning 21 kms of ditches but afterwards we went to set up the barns at the Wetaskiwin Ag Grounds for our show day.
For the past several weeks every member was busy making final preparations on their project which included washing, clipping, grooming and leading their steers and heifers. All this hard work paid off when show day came around. This year our club chose to donate $1,500 to STARS. A cheque was presented to a representative of their organization on May 13 at our achievement day.
On June 7 our club gave back to the Wetaskiwin Ag Society for the use of the ag grounds by working the Rawhide Rodeo. We sold 50/50 tickets, worked the admission gates and cleaned up each night after the performances. Some days it was warm and sunny, others were cold and rainy but we are grateful for the use of the ag grounds so will happily deal with the weather conditions.
June 13 was our awards night at Angus Ridge Hall. We invited our buyers and sponsors to a steak supper to thank them for their support of our 4H program. Awards were presented to:
