Tax, federal budget analysis at chamber luncheon Mar. 16

A very big day is coming up soon for the Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce and its members.

The regular monthly luncheon will be held Friday, Mar. 16 at Montgomery Glen Golf and Country Club. Guest speaker for the luncheon will be small and medium-sized business expert Steve Latimer of Grant Thornton LLP.

Latimer’s expertise revolves around small and medium businesses and tax law and will be discussing recent changes to income splitting law.

Latimer will also discuss the upcoming federal budget and how it will affect small and medium businesses in the Wetaskiwin area.

The second part of the meeting includes the Chamber of Commerce’s annual general meeting. The chamber executive will have a year in review for members and a set of bylaws for approval.

The AGM includes the presentation of financial statements and elections to the executive and board of directors. Chamber members are welcome to stay for the AGM and have a chance to ask the board any questions they may have.

Doors open for the luncheon at 11:30 a.m., with the program to start at 12 noon. The meeting, including AGM, is expected to wrap up at 1:30 p.m.

Fee is $40 per person non-members, $30 per person for members.
