Truck smashes into Wetaskiwin convenience store

Wetaskiwin RCMP are investigating a brazen break and enter that involved a truck backing into a convenience store Feb. 18.

According to a press release from Wetaskiwin RCMP spokesperson Cst. Christine Hepburn, “On February 18, 2019 Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter to Mega Convenience Store. Police were informed that there was a white/silver pick-up truck that backed into the store and left the scene.

“Upon police arrival it was determined that the doors had been smashed and cigarettes and other numerous items were taken.

“It was believed that a white or silver pickup truck that was involved and fled the scene. The estimated damage was in excess of $10,000.

“If anyone has information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact the Wetaskiwin RCMP Detachment at 780-312-7267 or their local police.
