If you were planning on camping in the County of Wetaskiwin’s Twin Lakes Park this week, you have some bad news. However, if you were planning on Battle Lake Park, you can head there on Saturday.

According to Director of Parks and Recreation Geoff Lynch, Twin Lakes Park will be closed this weekend, June 16 and 17, because of tree damage caused by the intense wind this week.

Lynch told The Pipestone Flyer June 15 several county campgrounds had suffered from the winds, and crews need a chance to remove damaged trees from Twin Lakes Park before the public can use it.

However, crews are working at Battle Lake Park, and that campground will be open by Saturday, June 16 morning.
