Wetaskiwin residents attacked with bear spray in their own home

Two Wetaskiwin residents got a nasty surprise recently when a trespasser attacked them with pepper spray without warning.

According to Wetaskiwin RCMP spokesperson Cst. Shaun Marchand, “On November 4th, 2019, just after midnight an unknown male entered a residence with two occupants in the area of 48th Street and 48th Avenue in Wetaskiwin.

“The male suspect was disturbed by one of the residents and reacted by spraying them with bear spray. During the incident the other resident became involved and also became the victim of bear spray. The suspect stole a couple of small personal items before leaving the residence on foot.

“The suspect was described as male, native, average height, wearing all black clothing including a hoodie. A composite sketch has been completed of the suspect.

“Wetaskiwin RCMP continue to investigate.
