Dorothy "Joan" Coggins was born March 18, 1932 and died March 19, 2018, in Wetaskiwin at the age of 86 years.
Joan was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Dorothy Marie Svoboda and Alfred Vincent Svoboda.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Mike in 2005 and her parents Dorothy and Alfred.
Joan and Mike raised their family in Saskatoon and Regina before retiring to Mulhurst , Alberta in 1996 where she enjoyed cooking and socializing with friends. Joan rejoiced in her children and grandchildren.
Joan is survived by daughter, Leslie Henry (Lou) of Ottawa, daughter Tracy (Patrick) Gullaher of Calgary, Chris (Deb) Coggins of St. Albert. Grandchildren Josh (Chantel) of Edmonton, Liz (Kelso) of Calgary, Bethany Price of Ottawa and Danielle Price (Jason) of Ottawa and Shaugn Coggins of St. Albert and five great grandchildren; her brothers, Bob Svoboda (Caroline); Charles (Lisa) Svoboda and sister, Corinne Carlson (Jim) as well as nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Stiaan Van Der Walt and the staff of Unit 43 and Long Term Care (Unit 33) Wetaskiwin Hospital for the tremendous care and support given to Mom and our family during both Mom's stay and illness.
We miss you more than we can say Mom.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m at Sacred Heart Church in Wetaskiwin, AB (5113 - 49 Ave), and interment to follow at Lakedell Cemetery, in Westerose, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's name can be made to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation (6910-47 Street, Wetaskiwin, AB T9A 3N3).
