George Hunerfauth

It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of George Hunerfauth on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the age of 88 years, four hours short of his 89th birthday. George was born in Kusnacht, Switzerland and emigrated to Canada in the 1950's. George settled in Wetaskiwin, where he established his business and raised his family. He was an active and well respected member of his community. He loved spending time at work, with his family, and at his weekend "farm". George will be lovingly remembered by Audrey, his wife of 32 years; his sister, Elisabeth Frey in Switzerland; his daughter, Annabelle (Bob) Dick; his sons, Karl and Peter (Tanya); his grandchildren, Brent Dick, Connor and Katelyn Hunerfauth, Reid and Emily Hunerfauth; his stepchildren, Valerie, Roger, and Daniel (Judy, Jessica) Beauchamp; nieces and nephews in Canada, Switzerland and Germany. George was predeceased by his wife, Inge - the mother of his children; his daughter, Marlene; parents, Karl and Ursula; brothers, Uli (Helena) and Klaus. The family extends heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the staff at the Northcott Centre. A Celebration of George's Life will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 1 pm at the First United Church in Wetaskiwin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of George, to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation. He will be deeply missed and remembered forever.
