In loving memory ~

Henry Sieweke of Wetaskiwin, Alberta passed away on November 16, 2023, surrounded by family. He lived a rich life that is difficult to sum up in a few brief paragraphs and those who knew him will remember him for so much more. Henry was born on September 12, 1927, in Germany. He was predeceased by his wife, Irmgard. Henry will be remembered by his brother, Winfried; sisters-in-law, Irmgard, Margaret, Brunhilde and Magdalene; daughter, Monica (Bill); sons, Michael (Lori), Andy (Haydee), Norman (Ronna) and Anthony (Myra); 11 grandchildren, Kris (Lacy), Alexander (Danielle), Mark (Mary), Anna (Tyler), Stefan (Garret), Christophe, Anika (Brandon), Stephane, Laurent (Tanisha), Karlee (Gordie), Erika (Don); 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Germany. Henry and Irmgard immigrated to Canada in 1953 and were married that year. Henry was trained as an engineering technician specializing in farm equipment design. He co-established and operated Alberta Engineering, (later Alteen Distributors) in Wetaskiwin, a distributor of farm machinery and recreational equipment to dealerships in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Henry's professional service and genuine, respectful approach earned him the trust and esteem of clients and the community for over 60 years. The couple had five children whom he greatly loved. Henry was involved in all of their lives, helping them in every way he could. As a family, they spent their summers at their beloved cottage at Grandview Beach. As the family grew, including spouses and grandchildren, the tradition of spending time together was deeply ingrained. Henry's countless volunteer activities and his investment in the people of Wetaskiwin made many positive impacts on the lives of others and the community. Henry's friendly, kind, and humble manner promoted peace, harmony and respect among all of those whose lives he touched. Funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church (5113-49 St. Wetaskiwin) with burial to follow.
