John "Stan" Stanley

August 25, 1947 - June 1, 2019
It is with unbearable sadness but fond memories that Stan's family announce his peaceful passing. Stan was a kind and thoughtful gentle giant who lost a short but brave battle with cancer. Surviving Stan are wife, Sandra; daughter, Corrie (Brad) and his beloved grandsons, Evan and Owen. Stan spent many hours with his grandsons at their sporting and other activities and just being an exceptional grandfather. Many extended family members and wonderful friends also mourn his passing. The family sincerely thanks all his health care teams (Wetaskiwin Hospital, the Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton SW Home Care and the Edmonton General Hospital Unit 9Y) for their professional, competent and compassionate care of Stan and their support for his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 16 from 2-5 at Wetaskiwin Legion, 5003 52 Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation, 6910 - 47 Street, Wetaskiwin, AB T9A 3N3 would be gratefully appreciated.
