It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Mae (Sjorlund) Wollin on Tuesday February 13, 2024 at the age of 87 years.
Shirley is survived by her six loving children Penny (Garry) Smale, Michael (Tracey) Wollin, Terry Wollin, Cindy (Reg) Jansen, Shelley Wollin and Bonnie Wollin.
Shirley leaves behind 20 grandchildren and step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren as well as many other family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Darryl Wollin, parents Buster (Victor) and Ena (Devena) Sjorlund, sister Wanda and brother in law Ronnie Fraser as well her daughter-in-law Linda (Terry) Wollin.
Shirley and Darryl farmed in the Falun area from 1970 to 2018. Shirley was an avid Gardner, growing a large garden to feed her family and growing beautiful flowers. She was an amazing cook and baker, talented seamstress, and quilter and enjoyed other hobbies of ceramics, hardanger, crocheting, and knitting.
She was an active Falun community league and Vasa club member but devoted most of her time and energy to raising her children and caring for other family members.
A private service will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dalby Cemetery Foundation or the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation - Long Term Care Fund, Wetaskiwin, Alberta.
Special thank you to the staff at the Wetaskiwin Long Term Care facility for all the loving care, respect and kindness you gave to our mom; with too many names to mention, but you know who you are.
Also to Dr. Hendriks for your kindness to our mom and dad during their journey and support you provided to our family.
