Dear editor,

Having just read a letter by Ron Wurban from Calmar in last week’s paper, I would very much like to thank him for writing this exceptional piece. I had been meaning to write a letter to let Mr. Hinkley know that not all the things that the NDP government has been doing are all that great, but due to some health issues have not got it done.

The only legacy left behind by the NDP will be that they have mortgaged our grandchildren for the rest of their lives.

I have noticed on Bruce Hinkley’s Facebook page he has posted an article about schools being powered by wind power for the next 25 years. What a farce this is when the existing wind farms are failing before 20 years. He does not tell everyone that the NDP government has subsidized them for that 25 years. These wind farms are all failing in Germany and even some of the ones in Ontario after as little as 17 years in operation and they have to be subsidized to be profitable so why are we doing the same as places where they failed?

This is nothing to brag about when it is taxpayer money that is funding all these bad ideas.

It does not take a smart government to spend money. It takes a smart government to run itself like a good business.

James Cook, Westerose
