I am not ashamed to say that the Valentine season is not the only time of year that I love a good romance book. The past few years have been stellar for the Romance genre, not only for incredible new releases, but undiscovered gems getting a new lease on life.

Happy New Year and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. As we move in to the New Year it is often important to take stock of where we are as people and I believe as a province. If we just look at the past three months we will see that Alberta has welcomed 58,203 new people. This represents a population increase of around 1.3 per cent, the largest growth our province has ever seen.

I won’t end 2022 by pretending it was an easy year just because we have begun to return to “normal.” This past year was tough for many, as we continue to contend with an ongoing pandemic, inflation and increasing costs of living, and seemingly endless stream of bad news — both at home and abroad.
